is launching a new programme for Jobseekers

 

Link 2b Active
 

Community Coaching Programme 2011

 

 

‘Link 2B Active’ is a programme first piloted by South Dublin Sports Partnership to offer jobseekers discounted rates in local sports facilities. If you are a jobseeker, a number of sporting facilities in County Monaghan are offering you the opportunity to get active and stay active with special deals as part of the ‘Link 2B Active’ Programme(details will be available on our website from Friday 16th September).

 

Monaghan Sports Partnership has expanded on the ‘Link 2b Active’ initiative by launching its ‘Community Coaching Programme’ which offers jobseekers the opportunity to avail of a range of coaching certificates along with a whole programme of valuable information and advice.

 

Interested applicants must have a keen interest in sports coaching and sports development, be over 21 years of age, and available to attend training sessions Monday to Wednesday (10.00am – 2.30pm) over an eight week period at a mid Monaghan venue.

 

The course content will include the following modules;

 

Sports Coaching Awards*
GAA, FAI, Rugby, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Olympic Handball, Athletics, Active Leadership

 

Non-sports workshops*
Child Protection, First Aid, Disability Awareness, Diversity Awareness

 

Information workshops and advice*
Money Advice & Budgeting (MABS), FÁS training, Adult Education Guidance (AEGIS), Monaghan Volunteer Centre, CV Preparation & Interview Skills

 

Work Experience Module
In order to successfully complete the entire training programme, participants must be committed to voluntarily delivering sports activities in their own local area as part of an eight week work experience module following the training.

Shortlisting of candidates will apply. The committee’s decision on the selection of candidates is final.

 

Successful candidates should be available to start the course on the morning of Monday, 10th October 2011

 

Closing date for applications: Friday 23rd September 2011 at 5.00pm.
