North East Cycle Challenge 2013
(30k Leisure and 100km Challenge)

Organised by Carrickmacross Lions Club, this is the seond year of the North East Cycle Challenge and the hard-working committee is anticipating great interest in this event, following the success of the inaugural cycle last year. All details of the event can be accessed below so read on, get your bike tuned up and get ready for the North-East Cycle challenge 2013!!

ROUTE 1: 100km Drumlin Challenge (recommended for experienced cyclists) Carrickmacross – Kingscourt – Shercock – Cootehill – Newbliss – Ballybay – Lough Egish – Carrickmacross.
Check-in / Registration at the Phoenix Centre Carrickmacross from 8am to 9:30am on Sunday 5th May 2013. Event start time is 9:30am from Main Street, Carrickmacross.
ROUTE 2: 30km Oriel Challenge (recommended for beginners / leisure cyclists) Carrickmacross – Killanny – Tallanstown & return
Check-in / Registration at the Phoenix Centre Carrickmacross from 8am to 9:30am on Sunday 5th May 2013. Event start time is 10:00am from Main Street Carrickmacross.
Refreshments, massage & shower facilities will be provided in the Phoenix Centre after the event.
Please note: The North East Cycle Challenge is not a race

- Post completed registration form and cheque to Carrickmacross Lions Club, C/O Shirley Arms Hotel, Carrickmacross and mark envelope ‘North East Cycle Challenge’
- At Check-in at Phoenix Centre, Carrickmacross, between 8am and 9:30am Sunday 5th May 2013

The North East Cycle Challenge is a charity event organised by the Carrickmacross Lions Club. Sponsorship cards are available for any individual or group who would like to further support the event.

The Carrickmacross Cycling Club have also offered support by inviting cyclists to their Saturday Morning Cycle every week from Carrickmacross Courthouse – Speed Group at 9am, Leisure Group at 10am, also Sunday morning leisure cycles from Courthouse at 10am. All groups and new members welcome – time to dust down the bikes and get ready for the year ahead. ALL LADIES WELCOME. Get On Your Bike with 2013 An Post Cycle Series
An Post and Irish Sports Council announce dates for year four of the popular cycle series which runs May – September
The An Post Cycle Series, between An Post and the Irish Sports Council, encourages communities around the country to get on their bikes.
With routes catering for everyone from the serious amatuer to the enthusiastic beginner, the Series is a great way for family, friends and work colleagues to spend a day of fun together while the serious rider can follow a more challenging route.
Family routes will be approximately 10kms while short, medium and long distance routes will be approximately 60kms, 100kms and 160kms.
Thousands of people took part in the 2012 An Post Cycle Series.
